In the latest guidelines for testing of Covid samples on Monday amid increasing cases of Corona and Omicron in the country, the Indian Council of Medical Research said that Covid patients contacts do not require testing unless they are identified as high risk on the basis of age or comorbidities.
The ICMR statement said that there is no need to test the patients discharged after home isolation or those discharged from the Covid-19 facility. However, people with symptoms like cough, fever, sore throat or loss of taste or smell and other COVID symptoms need to be tested. Along with this, it has also been said that people who are above 60 years of age or who have diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, lung or kidney disease etc., also need to be tested.
For hospitals, ICMR directed that no emergency procedure should be delayed for lack of testing. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 13.52 lakh samples were tested across the country on Sunday. Since the beginning of the epidemic in the country, more than 69.16 crore samples have been tested so far.
At the same time, with the arrival of 1,79,723 new cases of coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours, 46,569 people were cured and 146 people died due to corona. The total number of cases in the country has gone up to 3,57,07,727. The number of active cases is 7,23,619. So far, 4,83,936 people have died due to corona in the country. At the same time, 3,45,00,172 people have been cured so far. The total vaccination figures are 1,51,94,05,951.
Corona vaccination centers can be opened till 10 pm
The Union Health Ministry has written a letter to the states and union territories saying that if required, Corona Vaccination Centers can be opened till 10 pm. The Center earlier told that the time of CVC is from 8 am to 8 pm. After this, the Center has written this letter to all the states and union territories and told that vaccination centre can be opened till 10pm.
